The newborn companies grow

According to the monthly data on Italian companies' births-deaths photographed through Movimprese, the statistics conducted by InfoCamere to Unioncamere, the informatic consortium computer of Italian Chambers of Commerce in the period from January to May 2010, the difference between newborn and deaths was positive. To 17,235 units among births and terminations, as a result of the balance between 200,652 newborn and 183,417 terminations. This figure marks a reversal of trend in comparison with the period from January to May of last year, a period marked by the explosion of international crisis: in the first five months of 2009, in fact, there were about 14 thousand openings less and over 14 thousand closures more than in 2010. Regarding the location, the geographic area that has most contributed to the balance of the period was the Northwest, with 6,832 additional companies. In relative terms, it was instead the Centre (+0.53%) to mark the most dynamic growth. Puglia, Liguria, Molise and Friuli the regions, between January and May, have closed the files of the production accounts with the red record respectively by a balance of 180, 164, 97 and 37 units less. Regarding the sector, hotels and restaurants marked - in absolute terms - a balance of 4,326 units and in relative terms, exceeded even the good result of 2009 (+1.16% vs +0.94%).
