Brioni becomes French
Brioni, Italian brand of dressmaking for men, has recently become part of PPR, important French luxury group lead by François-Henri Pinault. Francesco Pesci, CEO of Brioni, is optimistic with regards to the brand’s perspectives for the future following the acquisition by the French group and affirms that the company experiences the change by “looking at the exceptional results that Group PPR has obtained with “Gucci” and “Bottega Veneta”, two Italian brands. We consider the operation very positively and PPR is an extremely well suited new owner,” as he declared to the newspaper “ilGiornale” and stating that “PPR’s big dimension will permit us to dispose of extraordinary competences, information and resources and will give the instruments to boost of that development that a brand like ours, due to its potentialities, deserves.” The principal goals for the future concern, according to Pesci, “the strengthening of its retail net with new openings of stores. Today we got 32 property stores in Western Europe, USA and Japan and 44 franchise stores in Middle East and in former soviet countries” and “the expansion of the product portfolio, with the increase of some sectors and the deepening of others.”
